Breeze Dating App: The best way to find a date in Amsterdam.

August 21, 2023August 31, 2024

In the bustling world of online dating, where swiping left or right has become second nature, a fresh wind is blowing through the digital alleys of love. Enter Breeze, the Netherlands-born dating app that’s turning heads and changing the game.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Founded in 2022, Breeze is not just another face in the crowd. It’s an app that dares to be different, challenging the norms of the digital dating world. While most apps emphasize online chats, Breeze encourages users to meet offline, fostering genuine connections in the real world

How Does Breeze Work?

  1. Profile Creation: Users start by creating a profile, answering questions about their interests and preferences.

  2. Smart Matching: Breeze’s intelligent algorithm suggests profiles based on user responses.

  3. Real-World Dates: Once two users match, they choose a date activity from a curated list. Options might include a casual coffee, a museum visit, or a scenic walk.

  4. Date Organization: Breeze takes the reins, setting up the date details, including location and time.

  5. Payment: True to its transparent ethos, Breeze charges only when users go on a date. No hidden subscriptions, and no ads. Just a flat fee of €10 for a date.

Why Breeze Stands Out

  • No Online Chats: Breeze believes in real-world connections. Users chat only after they’ve met, eliminating the awkward pre-date online banter.
  • Honest Business Model: With no ads or subscriptions, Breeze’s pay-per-date model ensures transparency.
  • Safety First: Breeze prioritizes user safety. From profile verification to location sharing and in-app reporting, the app has its users’ backs.

History

2020: Breeze is founded by a group of students from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
2021: Breeze is launched in the Netherlands.
2022: Breeze secures 1.3 million in funding!

Pros:

  • Genuine Connections: No online chats mean users connect authentically in person.
  • Safety Protocols: Breeze’s safety features, like profile verification and location sharing, offer peace of mind.
  • Transparent Pricing: With a pay-per-date model, users know exactly what they’re getting.

Cons:

  • Limited Availability: Currently, Breeze is only in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
  • Cost: At €10 a date, some might find Breeze pricier than other apps. But it’s fair as they are finding the venue for you and setting up the date!
  • No-Chat Policy: While many love it, some users might prefer an initial chat before a meeting. This is a risk as I’ve gone on dates where a few
questions really would have made it obvious we were not a match.

Personal findings:

As a gay man, I find the issue of sexual compatibility particularly significant. Unless someone specifies their sexual preference in their profile, it remains unknown. While some might argue its irrelevance, in the gay community, it’s crucial. Additionally, I’d appreciate photo verification checks in the future. It would also be beneficial to have questions that provide insights into a person’s character. Currently, we only have a few photos, a brief bio, and some keywords to base our decisions on, followed by a minimum 30-minute investment to meet the individual

That said – I think it’s a great app!.

A Nudge Towards Real Connections

In an era where digital interactions often overshadow face-to-face connections, Breeze is a refreshing reminder of the joys of genuine human interaction. It’s not just about finding a date; it’s about experiencing the thrill of meeting someone new, without the digital barriers.

So, if you’re tired of endless swipes, and chats that lead nowhere, and craving genuine connections, Breeze might just be your ticket to a refreshing dating experience. Dive in, feel the Breeze, and let love guide the way!
